Head of HR – ANZ, Lenovo
In 2007, Pia commenced her career in her native Argentina as an HR assistant at packaging and processing company Tetra Pak. In 2010, Pia entered her first ICT industry role at Lenovo, the company that would help shape her into a high-performing human relations leader across two continents.
During her time at Lenovo in Argentina, Pia rose quickly through the ranks from HR Intern, to Compensation Benefits Analyst, to HR Business Partner. She impressed the leadership team with her commitment to all staff across all levels of the business, as well as her passion for driving opportunities for career progression and leadership amongst female colleagues.
In 2015, Pia made the move across the Pacific to Sydney, Australia, where she took up an Asia-Pacific regional role as a HR Generalist for MasterCard. Following a stint at freight company Maersk Line, Pia returned to MasterCard, this time as Manager and HR Business Partner for International Markets. Pia’s return to MasterCard spoke volumes to the strength of her previous contribution to the business, and her ongoing standing with their team.
During her time at MasterCard, Pia excelled in developing and implementing policies targeted at employees of all levels. She worked closely with senior management to communicate the wants and needs of employees across MasterCard’s substantial international markets. It was through this liaison with senior management, that Pia was able to apply for her next role, as the Head of HR for Australia and New Zealand back at Lenovo.
Pia commenced her role as Head of HR for Lenovo ANZ in May last year. Since then, she has moved to further career and leadership opportunities for women, set up an internal mentorship program and improve the return to work for mothers on maternity leave. This was all before the COVID-19 pandemic hit, which provided Pia and her team a number of challenges as the world shifted to remote working.
In just under 10 years, Pia went from HR intern at Lenovo in Argentina, to Head of HR for Australia and New Zealand. This extraordinary progression is testament to her work ethic and dedication to her people and their careers.
